Steep When You Travel

Steep When You Travel

We thrive in routine but we also love an adventure. From European vacations to visiting and staying with family, Plantwalk herbal infusions make a great companion and keep you including your favorite ritual no matter where you find yourself. We wanted to make herbal infusions more convenient because traveling with all the gear to make a traditional infusion is just not going to happen and we didn’t want to feel like we had to leave the practices that keep us grounded and hydrated when we leave home.

Here are some tips on how to steep herbal infusions when you’re away.

Water

Aside from the herbal infusion sachet, water is really the only other ingredient. While we prefer filtered or spring water, compromises are often needed while traveling so do what you can. If you’re staying somewhere with a kitchen then simply prepare your infusion water as you would at home. If you’re at a hotel, you might need to request hot water. Because many hotels offer tea and coffee service, this should be no problem. If you’re in a hotel with a coffee maker, you could use it for just hot water but we would recommend running a couple cycles of water that you would discard before steeping your infusion sachet in order to avoid any off flavors.

Vessel

Depending on where you’re staying (usually with friends or family), mason jars might abound. In a pinch, you could steep your infusion sachet in a regular cooking pot. If you want to be extra well-prepared, we recommend bringing a large wide-mouth stainless steel water bottle on your trip. Our favorite is the Purist Collective Founder bottle.
